The aim of the course:
The course aims to provide the students with a general knowledge on Legal Philosophy.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Define the basic concepts about philosophy.
LO - 2 : Explain the relationship between philosophy and law.
LO - 3 : Analyze the universal principles of law.
LO - 4 : Cognize the judicial independence and objectivity.
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
Definition of philosophy, relationship between philosophy and law, moral dimension of law, law and social relations, historical legal trends, the importance of the philosophy of law, the formation of the universal principles of law, judicial independence and objectivity.
