The aim of the course:
This course mainly presents operating GPR systems and gives its applications. It is aimed to introduce how data acquisition, processing with ReflexW software and interpretation of this method.

Contents of the Course
What is ground penetrating radar, ground probing radar, georadar or subsurface radar (GPR)? History of georadar, Basic Electromagnetic Theory, Maxwell Equations, Electromagnetic Fields from sources. Physical properties (Magnetic permeability, electric permittivity), GPR instrumentation, data acquisition, data processing, interpretation, concepts and pitfalls of GPR. Ground Penetrating Radar Applications: pipes and utilities, tank and drum location, concrete and rebar imaging, fractured-cracked system in mining and marble quarries, cave investigation.
