The aim of the course:
o gain basic knowledge and skills related to nursing management in emergency situations of children
 
Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Know the duties, powers and responsibilities of a child emergency nurse
PO - 2 : Children know the status of emergency care in the world and Turkey
PO - 3 : The child knows the importance of team work in an emergency and explains the task descriptions of each team member
PO - 4 : The child communicates with the child and the family in accordance with age groups
PO - 5 : The child knows emergency stress and crisis situations and manages stress and crisis
PO - 6 : Evaluates pediatric emergency hospital and knows its approach
PO - 7 : Pediatric triage guides patients to appropriate areas
PO - 8 : Know basic and advanced life support
PO - 9 : Know pediatric acupuncture and nursing approaches
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
Emergency patient characteristics and approach, pediatric tiryaj, basic and advanced life support, neonatal resusciation, airway management, respiratory emergencies, cardiak arrhythmias, cardiak emergencies, approach to traumatized children, approach to febril children,child abuse and neglect, legal dimensions of child accidents, burn injuries, status epileptikus, acute changes in consciousness, fluid and electrolyte therapy, shock, septic shock, circulatory support, hypertension, acute renal failure, sudden infant death syndrome, home accidents,posonings, animal and insect bites and stings, suffocation, freezing, electric shock, ear, nose, throat and eye foreign body, foreign body aspiration, endocrine emergencies, gastroenterologic emergencies, hematologic-oncologic emergencies, surgical emergencies, brain death and donor selection, pediatric emergencies in natural disasters,
