The aim of the course:
To teach fatigue phenomenon, types and mechanisms of fatigue. To teach component design resistant to fatigue and how to perform the fatigue tests.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : understand the fatigue phenomenon and perform the design resistant to fatigue1,3,4,111,5
PO - 2 : perform the fatigue tests and determine the fatigue curves for various materials1,2,3,5,111
PO - 3 : know relations used in fatigue and apply these in design1,2,5,111,3,5
PO - 4 : know the mechanisms and the effects on fatigue1,3,51,5
PO - 5 : know corrosion fatigue and the dispositions against to fatigue failure1,3,5,111
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome
