Computational fluid dynamics. Governing equations. The application of finite volume method to fluid mechanics and heat transfer equations. Diffusion, convection and source terms in equations. Grid generation. Boundary conditions. Properties of turbulent flows. Turbulent models. Spalart-Almaras turbulent model, k-ε turbulent model, k-ω turbulent model. FLUENT commercial package. How does FLUENT work, FLUENT co-working programs. Solution of some engineering problems with FLUENT: 2D, 3D heat conduction, forced convection in ducts, impinging jet flows, cooling of electronic equipments. Flow and heat transfer problems with following parameters: 2D/3D, laminar/turbulent, time dependent /steady state, Cartesian coordinate/cylindrical coordinate. |
