The aim of the course:
to introduce students to basic concepts of force, couples and moments and develop a basic understanding of the mechanics of physical bodies underthe action of static force systems.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : draw the free Body Diagrams for particles and rigid bodies.1,51,
LO - 2 : write down the the equations of equilibrium for a particle and a rigid body and by to write down the the equations of equilibrium for a particle and a rigid body and by using these equations they will be able to formulate and solve the equilibrium problems.1,51,
LO - 3 : identify and solve the problems that contain friction1,51,
LO - 4 : formulate and then solve the problems which contain centes of gravity, mass and centroid.1,51,
LO - 5 : formulate and solve the problems that the motion problems of a particle.1,51,
