The aim of the course:
Orman mühendislerini bilimsel karar verme teknikleri ile donatmak, sistem anlayışı ile ormancılık disiplininde en iyi kararların alınması mantığını kazandırmak. Öğrencilere doğrusal programlama ve amaç programlama teknikleri ile kısıtlı orman kaynaklarından azami derecede yararlanmak için model kurma, çözme ve sonuçlarını tahlil etme becerisini kazandırmak

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Define and explain the importance of operations research (OR) techniques as applied to forest resource management2,41,3,
LO - 2 : Formulate a real forestry problem in mathematical symbols using OR techniques such as linear programming, goal programming and network techniques.2,41,3,
LO - 3 : Solve the models with appropriate solutions techniques such as simplex method, run a model in a computer and present the outcome of the model to the audience2,41,3,
LO - 4 : Analyze model results, relate them to the real problem and filter the consequences of each constraint to management2,41,3,
LO - 5 : Interpret and pinpoint the risk and opportunities in solving problems with OR techniques2,41,3,
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
