The aim of the course:
All students of forestry are introduced to the basic ideas and practical operation of processes such as the interpretation, mapping and measurement of remote sensing data in inventory and surveying tasks, all of which are common in forestry.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : define and give information on the history of remote sensing, explain the use of remote sensing in forestry epplications, define the electromagnetic spectrum. 3,41,
LO - 2 : Explain remote sensing systems (active, passive), satellites, earth obersvation sattelites, the characteristics of Landsat, Sentinel and national sattelites, types of resolutions in sattelites.3,41,
LO - 3 : Download, open, subset, change the resolutions, implement supervised and unsupervised classification, and compute NDVI using sattelite images through SNAP software.3,44,
LO - 4 : Analyse the LIDAR data, build (CHM) canopy height model and digital terrain model using ArcGIS software.3,4
LO - 5 : Have the information on drones and analyse the arial photos aquired using drones3,41,
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
