The aim of the course:
The course aims to provide the students with a general knowledge on basic geodetic measurements, forest cadastre, map reading, produce digital maps, updates of maps and introduce GPS.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Fundamentals of applied forest surveying to forestry problems including concepts of plane surveying, measurements of distance, slope gradient, vertical heigths and triangulation, errors, Global Position System, map basics, mapping processes, scale and generalization, map projections, map compilation and design, topograhical maps, terrain representation, contours, profiles and slopes, topographic features, thematic mapping, digital map applications, forest cadastrate works, forest boudary point determination, survey and map update.

 Week 4Point determination, vertical koordinate system and fumdamental koordinate assigments
 Week 5Horizontal control points, polygon measurements and calculations, GPS measurements
 Week 6Introduction to mapping, map scale, classification of maps, map usage in forestry
 Week 7Map creation technics, geodezy and datum, koordinate systems
