The aim of the course:
Definition of special education, main principles, reasons for handicaps, importance of pre diagnosis and treatment, importance of speacil education in pre school stage, historical approaches for handicaps, education of different types of handicapped children, game teaching for different children, reactions of families, situation of special education in Turkey, institutions for special education

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : define special education and children who need special education
LO - 2 : define diseases available in the special education
LO - 3 : know the BEP programs that is applied for special children
LO - 4 : notice that special education is also necessary in in pre school stage
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
