The aim of the course:
It is aimed to understand how the Ottoman state turned into a world power with the success it achieved in its struggle on the axis of east, west and south. It is aimed to understand how the Turks made their mark on the Mediterranen, Middle East and Near East with the policies they implemented in the 16th century, and at the same time, Thet are determining factor in European politics.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : summarize the political events between Bayezid the Second's ascending the throne and the death Osman II, political and military activities in this time11,
LO - 2 : describe the standstill of Ottoman rise and some problems in political organization iof the state.11,

LO - 4 : present before an audience the results and outcome of this lesson.11,

Contents of the Course
This period, will include political and social events from the ascension of the second Bayezid to the throne until the death of the second Osman. Second Bayezid-Shahzade Cem struggle will be evaluated in terms of Ottoman management approach. The emergence of the Shiite Safavid state and its effect on the Ottoman empire will be discussed. Eastern and southern politics in the period of Yavuz Sultan Selim will be explained. In the axis of the policies of the period of Süleyman the magnificient, the rise of the Ottomans to pek of power will be evaluated. In addition, Mediterranen and Indian Ocean policies will be discussed in this period. The difficulties faced by the state since the last quarter of the 17th century will be evaluated and the celali rebellions will be emphasized. The efforts to suppress the riots in the fist period of Ahmet and the change of the law of sibling murder will be emphasized. The effects of the reform thought and murder the young Ottoman on the Ottoman administration approach will be discussed. Layıha writers' thoughts about will be discussed.
