The aim of the course:
to understand the process of making Russian state originated from a tribe of Slavic origin and Russia's place in world history as an empire and to provide students with political, economic and cultural aspects of Russia in this regard.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : comprehend Russian process from a tribal to governmental case.1,112,

LO - 3 : understand modernization of Russia and compare this process with Ottoman example2,
LO - 4 : learn roles of the periods of Petro the Great in the process of becoming a modern and expansionalist state of Russia
LO - 5 : learn Russia's role in the world politics2,
LO - 6 : learn the emperialist policies of Russai and its relations with the Central Asian Khanates2,
LO - 7 : learn about Russia's place in European history2,
LO - 8 : comment on Russian intellectual history.2,
LO - 9 : follow the stages of development of the modern Russian state system2,
LO - 10 : learn about current debates about the origins and development of the Bolshevik Revolution2,

Contents of the Course
Examining the geographical and political situation before the emergence of Kievan Rus, Russian-Mongolian relations, the emergence of modern Russia, the modernization process as well as the political cultural developments in Russia constitute are the the content of the course.
