The aim of the course:
The particular aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic issues in classroom research methods and also to enable them to conduct research in real language classes. At the end of the course, students will, therefore, be familiar with general issues concerning classroom research and will be able to conduct classroom-related research.

Contents of the Course
This course is designed for PhD students majoring English language studies and/or applied linguistics. The course aims to familiarize the students with the key issues and conventions of classroom research within the context of ELT. It concentrates on research with a focus on teacher and learner behavior, classroom instruction, interaction, individual differences, learning processes, and various aspects of the language classroom environment, i.e., what happens in the language classroom. It also aims to provide methodological suggestions for students to initiate an applied research that enhances their understanding of how English language is learned, acquired or taught, and how these educational processes are promoted with the help of classroom research.
