The aim of the course:
are to provide students with an insight into and critical thinking regarding the main aspects of 20th Century English Theatre, Major Dramatists and their works, their major contributions to the world theatre and new innovations, presentational techniques and staging methods, new theories and approaches to dramatic literature with particular references to major works pertaining to this period.

Contents of the Course
Main characteristics and aspects of 20th Century English Theatre, Postwar British Drama, Absurd theatre, Anti-Realistic movements in theatre, Avandgarde theatre movements, Workers' Theatre, Feminism in drama, fringe theatre companies and politically motivated theatres in Britain.
