The aim of the course:
To provide the student with a clear presentation of the theory and application of the principles of engineering mechanics and to develop students ability to analyze problems based on the understanding of its basic concepts.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : determine the stress resultants and draw their diagrams.1,21
LO - 2 : understand the concepts of stress and strain , and will be able to formulte the relationships between stress and strain, and solve the related problems.1,21
LO - 3 : determine the stress and strains due to axial loads, torsion and bending.1,21
LO - 4 : identify and solve the problems related to statically indeterminate problems of members subjected to axial loading or torsion.1,21
