It is aimed to teach students the general aspects of traditional materials and their application.

Contents of the Course
General classification of conventional materials and their characteristics. Ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Alloys of metals. Steel; structural steel types and stainless steel. Baked soil materials. Glass material; its types and production techniques. Ceramics. Wood and wood products. Polymers and their use in civil engineering. Bituminous materials and theis use in civil engineering. Water, noise, and thermal insulation materials and their characteristics features and application principles. Resins and adhesives.
