The aim of the course:
In this course, the atomic structure and crystal structure of the materials, along with their physical, thermal and mechanical pproperties are intended to be covered in detail. In addition, the behavior of the mild steel and concrete under external load and the time-dependent deformation of the materials will be covered.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : comprehend the internal structure of materials by learning atomic structure and crystal structure . 1,2
LO - 2 : comprehend the basic concepts related to physical properties of materials and the experimental determination of these properties.
LO - 3 : comprehend the basic concepts related to thermal propeerties of materials and thermal insulation principles.
LO - 4 : comprehend the basic concepts related to mechanical properties of materials and related experiments.
LO - 5 : get acquired the time-dependent behavior of materials.
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
