The aim of the course:
This course aims to make student teachers to comprehend the main characteristics of teaching profession through active lesson presentations with teaching methods. Helping student teachers to improve the knowledge of the subject area and be able to use in different educational settings for real life. To make students to have experience and skills in planning and evaluation in the own subject area. In addition making student teachers to be able to do correct and objective evaluations and to improve their critical thinking skills.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : learn about contents of secondary music curriculum
LO - 2 : develop skills and knowledge in planning music lessons
LO - 3 : arrange musical activities can be carried out in classroom.

Contents of the Course
Applying concepts, principles and methods related to music education and teaching, arranging in-class individual and collective musical activities, planning, applying and evalualtion of music lessons at primary and secondary school level. Examination of primary and secondary music curriculum, preparing annual, daily, semestrial, unit plans for teaching music, examining primary and secondary music text-books, conducting planned music lessons, individual collective activities, listening, monitoring and criticising music activities, measurement and assessment in music education.
