The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to develop students? academic writing skills, help them understand the fundamental stages of the research process, and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for preparing academic publications. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to plan, write, and revise their research in accordance with academic writing conventions and ethical principles.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Identify the differences between academic writing and other types of writing and describe the fundamental characteristics of academic writing.5
PO - 2 : Explain the main stages of the research process and the structure of an academic text.5
PO - 3 : Analyze and synthesize scholarly sources using critical thinking skills to construct logical and evidence-based arguments.8
PO - 4 : Integrate academic sources effectively by applying appropriate citation, referencing, and paraphrasing practices in line with ethical standards.5
PO - 5 : Revise and edit academic texts to enhance clarity, coherence, accuracy, and academic tone.7
PO - 6 : Prepare and submit an academic manuscript in accordance with the requirements of national or international peer-reviewed journals.7

Contents of the Course
This course focuses on the differences between academic writing and other types of writing, and on the main features of academic writing in the social sciences. It introduces basic academic writing techniques and ethical principles, and develops students' reading and critical thinking skills through academic texts. Using a process-based approach, students practice planning the parts of an academic paper and building arguments with appropriate sources. Through practical activities, assignments, and a final project, students gain experience in writing clear, coherent, and formal academic texts.
