The aim of the course:
The course also focuses on developing the knowledge and skills necessary to comprehend, analyze, and discuss Russian films from both linguistic and cultural perspectives. It introduces the main characteristics of Russian cinema, includes films from various genres and historical periods, enriches vocabulary and phraseology, and strengthens communication and interpretive skills by deepening cultural background knowledge.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Recognize the general features of Russian cinema, film genres, and the distinctive characteristics of films from different historical periods.11,
LO - 2 : Understand native Russian speech by listening and identify the main topic and central idea of films. 11,
LO - 3 : Analyze Russian films from linguistic and cultural perspectives and express reasoned conclusions based on this analysis.11,
LO - 4 : Interpret cultural and social phenomena of Russia through the medium of film.11,

Contents of the Course
It provides a general introduction to Russian cinema and aims to develop students? linguistic and cultural competence. Feature films are used as authentic material for listening and speaking practice. Attention is given to colloquial vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, and cultural context. Through film adaptations of 20th-century Russian literary works, students are introduced to historical and social background, enabling a deeper understanding of Russian culture.
