Contents of the Course
The Text Analysis course has a practical orientation and aims to provide a comprehensive examination of the text as a systemic linguistic unit. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to work with texts of various styles (literary, scientific, journalistic, etc.) and genres in contemporary Russian in an integrated manner. Combining linguistic, literary, and cultural approaches to analysis, the course teaches students to perceive the text as a complex phenomenon. Philological analysis of the text ? particularly the study of linguistic means at different levels within its structure ? serves to develop students? professional competencies. It also plays a complementary and enriching role by reinforcing the knowledge and skills acquired in language practice courses specific to their field of study. Furthermore, the course aims to broaden students? historical and cultural awareness.
