The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to develop students? translation skills from Russian into Turkish through various text types. Students will gain competence in issues such as equivalence, meaning transfer, style, tone, and cultural differences by working with literary, journalistic, academic, and technical texts. The course aims to strengthen students? abilities in interpretation, meaning preservation, stylistic adaptation, and fluency in the target language during the translation process.

Contents of the Course
The course covers a variety of text types such as news articles, short stories, official letters, advertisements, essays, and scientific or critical texts. Each week, students will practice translation through a specific genre to understand the characteristics of different text types, contextual meaning relations, and linguistic nuances. Translation strategies, terminology exercises, and examples of cultural adaptation will also be discussed.
