The aim of the course:
This course aims to introduce students to the concept, process, and function of translation, helping them develop basic translation skills between Russian and Turkish. Students practice conveying meaning, achieving equivalence, and ensuring linguistic coherence from the sentence level to the text level.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : The student can explain the concept, purposes, and types of translation.
LO - 2 : The student can perform basic sentence and short text translations between Russian and Turkish.
LO - 3 : The student can understand the importance of equivalence and context in translation.
LO - 4 : The student can identify linguistic and cultural differences encountered during the translation process.
LO - 5 : The student can apply fundamental translation techniques.

Contents of the Course
The course covers an introduction to translation theory, basic translation techniques, challenges in translation, and problem-solving strategies. Through short bilingual translation exercises (from Russian to Turkish and vice versa), students become familiar with grammatical, semantic, and cultural differences between the two languages.
