Concepts of wood and wood composite. Concept of chemical modification. Chemical wood modification methods. Acetylation reactions. Wood-polymer composites. Changes on physical and mechanical properties of wood and wood composites after modification.Their resistance to biological degradation. Characterization of wood surface.Surface modification of wood. Functional groups in wood surface. Plasma treatment. Thermo plasticization of wood surface. Morphologic properties of surface treated wood. |
