The aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to try to explain why politics is necessary, through the problems of state legitimation and the nature of government.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Understands the importance of social contract theory.
LO - 2 : Understands that the state is an organ that requires legitimacy.
LO - 3 : Expresses an opinion on how the state should be governed.
LO - 4 : Knows the debates over the distribution of property.

Contents of the Course
The state of nature and the legitimization of the state, how and by whom the state should be governed, the place of freedom and the distribution of property will be discussed.
