Starting from primitive communities to contemporary examples, it can be said that law is one of the most important institutions of social life. Law plays a functional role in a wide range of aspects, from defining society as an entity, shaping the form of coexistence, and even regulating relationships with other societies. The boundaries of the course content have been created by utilizing a literature that spans from discussions on how law emerged in social processes, its functional role, and its relationship with social change, beginning with classical social contract texts and extending to contemporary discussions in the sociology of law. |
