The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to contribute the understanding of the social structure of Turkey by focusing on the issues that make up the basic dynamics of current social structure of Turkey and for this purpose to enlighten about Turkish social structure to students

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
This course focuses on the transition process from Ottoman state and to Turkish nation-state model and the construction of national identity. In this context, the historical background of the social structure of Turkey, Turkish modernization, the meaning of the Republic in the context of social change and transformation, the formation of modern Turkey and politics, education, religion, and economic institutions will be analysed in a comprehensive manner.
