By the end of the semester, it is expected that students taking the course will be able to grasp and explain the sociological dimension and significance of communication. They should also be able to approach media content critically, interpret it, and establish its connection with social issues. |

The content of this course consists of relevant approaches and discussions that will elucidate the sociological significance and foundation of the concept of communication. In this context, the course includes discussions ranging from sociological approaches to communication, communication models, the societal functions of communication tools, the relationship between communication and social change, and contemporary debates, covering discussions on new media studies and their impacts on everyday life as well. |
