In order to qualify the students with knowledge and skills on GIS data and analysis techniques that should be used in planning education, the course content involves the basic context of GIS (definition, components, etc.) and data structure; mapping concepts such as projections, coordinate systems, and datum; geographical and topological data structures, data sources and technologies supporting GIS; basic and advanced GIS functions; data accuracy/sensitivity; interpolation techniques; 3D analyses; network analyses; overlay (threshold, etc.) analyses; mapping for presentation purposes. |
