The aim of the course:
Introduce Industrial Engineering science and profession, to form an opinion on working fields and the differences between Industrial Engineering and other disciplines, to convey theory and practice relating to basics of Industrial Engineering to the students by facilitating the adaptation of the students to the university.

Contents of the Course
Introduction of the KTU Industrial Engineering Program and its regulations. Definition, history and evolution of Industrial Engineering, differences between Industrial Engineering and other disciplines, current and future job opportunities of Industrial Engineers, Basic problems in the interests of Industrial Engineering and overview the engineering analysis methods and principles used in solving these problems, Presentations of experienced guest speakers in the field of Industrial Engineering
