The aim of the course:
This course is aim to teach the basic principles of geophysical methods and their applications in the field used the appropriate site selection for solid waste areas and investigation of solid waste areas and their effects on environment.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Students will learn the basics of geophysical methods used in the selection of appropriate locations for solid waste storage areas.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,101,3,4
PO - 2 : Students should be able to data acquisitions, process and interpretation with geophysical methods in the solid waste areas.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,101,3,4
PO - 3 : Students will understand how the project can be done with other disciplines in the selection of sites for solid waste areas.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,101,3,4
PO - 4 : Analyze the environmental effect of solid waste storage areas 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9,101,3,4

Contents of the Course
Introduction, definition and classification of solid wastes, the use of seismic, electric resistivity, induction polarization, self-potential, magnetic, frequency and time domain electromagnetic methods in the appropriate site selection for solid waste storage areas. Evaluation of seismicity of the area to be selected for solid waste storage. Determination of the boundaries of fields which use as solid waste storage and effects of pollutant on the environment of these areas. Determining the location of the metallic and plastic materials stored in these areas.
