FOUNDATION & HISTORY  
Faculty of Health Sciences was established with the decision of the council of ministers on 02.01.2010 and published in Official Gazette dated February 26, 2010. The Departments of Healthcare Management were eligible to open with the decision of the Council of Higher Education dated 01.12.2010 and numbered 43307. Education and training activitie in the Department of Health Care Management started first in the academic year 2015-2016.

ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
1 - High school diploma
2 - Obtaining the required grade from National University Entrance and Placement Exam (ÖSS) 3 -To have no disability and barriers related to military.
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
Health management is a professional profession that plans, organizes, directs, controls and evaluates the processes and resources used by people, societies and organizations to meet their healthcare needs.
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS  
1-To complete all of the thought courses of the programme with 240 ECTS credits 2-To achieve a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
The students are subjected to mid-term exams, semester tasks (preclinic practices, internship, seminar, quiz, assignment or another mid-term exam) and end-of-term exams. The contribution of intermediate exams and semester tasks is 50% the end-of-semester exam is 50%, respectively.All the exams are assessed over 100. It is mandatory to take at least 50 from the end-of-term exam. Passing grade for the end-of-the year is 60. Students who accomplish (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) from one course are considered successful.Students can take at most two make-up examinations at the end of each semester.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS  
1-To complete all of the thought courses of the programme with 240 ECTS credits 2-To achieve a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 .
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES of GRADUATES  
Students graduated from the program can be employed in the Ministry of Health hospitals, university hospitals and private hospitals, other health institutions, insurance companies, social security institutions, pharmaceutical and medical companies, and similar education departments of universities.
ACCESS to FURTHER STUDIES  
The students who have successfully completed the program are able to receive education in the upper graduate programme (master and doctorate) on condition that they pass the ALES and UDS exams.

Departmental Facilities :
Healt Care Management Department is providing education at the building of Faculty of Pharmacy temporarly and its educational facilities are as following: It has a conference salon (80 persons), six classes (84 persons), one class (100 persons) and there are computers and projectors in all classes. It has also one cantine (coffee/tea machines), Department facilities are used jointly with the Nursing Department.
