ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
- To graduate from a department or faculty that meets the "Graduation Prerequisites for Application to Graduate Programs" determined by the Board of Health Sciences Institute and approved by the Karadeniz Technical University Senate.
- Having ALES (Quantitative/Equally Weighted) and a Foreign Language base score determined by the Board of Health Sciences Institute and approved by the KTU Senate (Application and Entry Requirements for the Graduate Programs of the KTU Health Sciences Institute).
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME
Department of Analytical Chemistry provides information on the theoretical and practical aspects of qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis. With the PhD program in Analytical Chemistry, students are given the theoretical knowledge, experimental skills and skills necessary for the design and application of analytical methods based on traditional and advanced technology. At the end of the PhD study, the students graduate with the thesis of developing innovation, developing a new scientific method, and carrying out at least one of the qualifications to apply a known method to a new field.
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS
To graduate from the doctoral program;
- Not less than 21 credits (240 ECTS) in total, including the compulsory courses of the program, including at least seven courses, two of which are in English, and the non-credit seminar, "Scientific Research and Publication Ethics" and "Scientific Research and Project Preparation Education" courses by the end of the fourth semester at the latest,
- The student admitted with a master's degree in the doctoral qualification exam, at the earliest at the end of the third semester, at the latest until the end of the fifth semester, if the student who has been accepted with a bachelor's degree, at the end of the fifth semester at the earliest, until the end of the seventh semester at the latest,
- "Development and Learning" and "Planning and Evaluation in Teaching" courses until the thesis defense exam,
