FOUNDATION & HISTORY  
Mechanical Program has been established on depending on the department of Technical Programs within Trabzon Vocational School on the 1996-1997 academic year. Mechanical Program training activities began with formal education program based on student on 2000-2001 academic year. Since 2010, under the heading Department of Mechanical and Metal Technologies is continuing education in the name of the machine program.

ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
1 - High school diploma
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
Mechanical program is a programme providing education on the design, manufacture, material and measure as well as basic science. Main purpose of this programme is to train technicians who have the knowledge required by rapidly developing science and technology, the ability to transfer that knowledge into practice and the ability to analyze and synthesize.
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.



In this Directive,



- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,

- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,

- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.


Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar.
Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS  
To have high school diploma
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
The students are subject to midterm exam, final work (projects, seminars, quizzes, homework or a second mid-term exam) and the final exam. The mid-term exam, if any, mid-term and final exam is 50% of 50% of the work has contributed. All exams are graded out of 100 points is considered absolute. Final exam, students are required to obtain at least 45 points. Final notes converted into letter grades relative grade system. AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) that the students are considered successful one. Students at the end of each semester, the semester's courses that they have failed in the examination, they may take the makeup exam.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS  
To win Mechanical Technician title, Students must ensure that the following conditions;
a) to be successful all the courses in the curriculum
b) to have a minimum General Grade Average must be 2.00.
c) to be completion of required 40 days professional experience program
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES of GRADUATES  
The graduates of the machine program has many opportunities of employment in a varitey of state and private companies and also cases where the graduates setup up their own jobs.
ACCESS to FURTHER STUDIES  
It is possible for our graduates to continue Bachelor's degree by succeeding in DGS exam.

DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES : 
The machine laboratory and Specific CAD/CAM Computer laboratory services created for mechanic students are presented.
