FOUNDATION & HISTORY  
Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Law was established on 26 October 2007. The first accepted 20 students have started their education in Gazi University Law Faculty in Ankara in 2008. For the 2009-2010 academic year, the Faculty of Law accepted 60 students who have been settled in the Karadeniz Technical University Kanuni Campus, which is the main Campus of the University.
The undergraduate programme is structured to provide the students not only with knowledge in classical and substantial areas such as criminal law, civil law, constitutional law and commercial law, but also with some other fields for which an international perception is the first condition like international criminal law, international human rights law, international arbitration, international economic law, European Union Law etc.
The courses, at the moment, are provided in Turkish. However, the fact that the Faculty is planning to offer, very soon, an obligatory preparatory English language courses for its students should be noted. Even it is the project of the University to create an optional second foreign language as Russian through the bilateral agreements which will be concluded between the Karadeniz Technical University and a possible Russian or Ukraine University. Through which some of the courses such as international law and international trade law will be lectured either in English or in Russian.

ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
1 - The admission of the students graduated from the secondary schools in Turkey: They must get the sufficient points from the Student Selectıon Exam (ÖSS) and have a diploma from high school or from the equivalent.
International students graduated from Turkish equivalent schools can also apply for the Faculty of Law. Foreign national students will be admitted based on the exam results from the student selectıon exam given by Student Selection And Placement Center (OSYM). In addition to this, they are also required to have the necessary qualifications determined by the faculty adminisitration. Within the guidelines of Student Selection Exam for international student (YÖS) in 2009, it is noted that one student quota will be given for the Faculty of Law.
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
The graduates from the Law Faculty have variety of employment opportunities both at the national and international level. They, (as a legal professional; judge, jurist, public prosecutor, attorney etc.) may choose working for public institutions such as Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Interiors. Furthermore, they can work for the international organisations and private firms operating in national and international fields.
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS  
The students who have successfully completed all of the thought courses of the programme with 240 ECTS credits and achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are given Bachelor's Degree in Law.
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
Whether students pass a course in a mid-term exam, and a final exam are to be evaluated in two stages. When determining the passing grade, the midterm and final exam 50% to 50% effective omaktadır. Students to be successful in a course grade of at least 50 and above (as letter grades CC), you need to take. If you are not an average of the courses in the 2:00 's on a student, a grade of 45-49 (the letter grade DC) considered to be successful in the course.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS  
Students must complete all of the required courses in the program successfully and they must finish the courses with at least 2 GPA over 4.00.
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES of GRADUATES  
The graduates from the Law Faculty have variety of employment opportunities both at the national and international level. ACCESS to FURTHER STUDIES  
The applicants are accepted to the post graduate program based on their ALES (Lisansüstü Egitimi Giris Sinavi - Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam given by ÖSYM every year) result, proficiency level of foreign language and on the necessary requirements to be stated within the announcement. All the applicants must be graduates of faculty of law and have necessary points from the ALES (Lisansüstü Egitimi Giris Sinavi - Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) given by OSYM every year. The applicants who completed their higher education abroad must have equivalence certificate provided by YOK. Other requirements are decided and announced by the administrative committee of the institute.

DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES : 
Concerning facilities for both undergraduate and graduate students, the University in general and the Faculty in particular, offer an environment of well-equipped classrooms, modern computer laboratories and library. The University's Main Library with more than 110.000 books and over 50.000 periodicals written in Turkish and Foreign languages as well as with access to over 30.000 e-books and 29.000 e-journals should also be noted here since being one of the best libraries of Turkey.
