The aim of the course:
The purpose of this course is to explain electrical machine, circuits and components in ships and to establish a sound basis for project design.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : evaluate the generation and transmission of power and circuits in ships1
LO - 2 : explain DC circuits and their using1
LO - 3 : evaluate AC circuits and their using1
LO - 4 : explain the connections of tree-phase electric and motor1
LO - 5 : prepare a project for ship electrical systems1

Definitions and general concepts in ship electricity; circuits and components, Ohm Law, Kischoff Law, circuit analysis methods, DC circuits, AC circuits, electric machinery used in ships, power systems, wires, precautions and safety against the electricity in ships
