The aim of the course:
It is aimed to teach how to calculate longitudinal and transverse strengths of vessels and also shear and moment affecting on vessels.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Basic mechanics of materials definitions, loads affecting on vessels, determination of steel hull weights, longitudinally resistance of vessel, shear loads and moment diagrams on vessel, shear strenght curve, bending moment curve, strenght diagrams in the case of various wave conditions, transverse strength of vessel, different loading situations on beam, mohr method, cross method, constant points method, clapeyron method.
