The aim of the course:
To provide the students with a general knowledge of the anlysis phase and machine elements in mechanical design and to provide the necessary knowledge and capability for task specification. To concept formation and synthesisphases of the machine design.

Contents of the Course
Fundamentals of design and applications of machine elements. Welded and riveted joints. Shafts and axles. Shaft hub connections. Bolted joints and power screw mechanisms. Pins and springs. Coupling and clutches. Lubricants and principles of lubrication. Sliding and rolling bearings. Spur gear mechanisms. Belt drive mechanisms.
