Basic concepts: individuals with hearing impairment; the nature of the hearing; individuals with visual impairments; the nature of vision; classification: educational, psychological, medical; the prevalence and incidence; Causes: prenatal, perinatal, postnatal; screening / diagnostic: medical, educational and developmental screening / diagnostic; academic and non-academic characteristics; and team collaboration; educational environments; scientifically based practices; Characteristics of the family; attitudes towards individuals with visual impairments, individuals with hearing impairments and their families; services offered to families, support and legal rights. |

| | Week 4 | Provides support to individuals with special needs and their families by using basic level (European Computer Operating License Advance Level) information technologies for instruction and research.

| | Week 6 | Uses learning how to learn, self-regulation, critical thinking, and creative thinking skills.
