The aim of the course:
Life saving equipment. Abandoning in ship. Man overboard operations. Life at sea and hypothermia. Life in life boats and rafts. Emergency procedures, safety equipment certificate. Basic fire fighting techniques.

Contents of the Course
Survival at sea, proficiency in survival craft (life raft-life boat, rescue boat) , medical emergency basic training, basic fire fighting personal safety and social responsibility life saving appliances. Life saving equipment. Abandoning in ship. Man overboard operations. Life at sea and hypothermia. Life in life boats and rafts. Emergency procedures, safety equipment certificate. Basic fire fighting techniques.

 Week 1Personal life saving techniques at sea. Personal life saving equipment, locations and usage of these equipment.
 Week 2Equipment in life saving crafts and rescue boats. Personal protective clothes and equipment.
 Week 3What to do in case of abandoning ship. Personal survival at sea. What to do in survival craft. The main danger for the victims.
 Week 4Lowering and lifting gears for various type of lifesaving craft and rescue boats. Lowering methods of lifesaving craft and rescue boats on heavy weather. What to do after abandoning ship. Running of lifesaving craft's engine.
 Week 5Basic First Aid techniques. Usage of equipment in emergency response box and other suitable material can take the place of bandages.
 Week 6Personal safety and social responbility, technics of safe working.Effective human relationships on board. Emergency applications.
 Week 7Combined Security Training (Basic Security Training, Security Awareness Training, Designated Security Duties)
 Week 8Basic training for prevention of fire and fire fighting. Properties of flammable materials. Classification of Fires.
 Week 9Mid-term exam
 Week 10Portable fire extinguishers. Fixed fire extinguishing installations. Personal fire equipment. Presentation and use of breathing devices.
 Week 11On board fire fighting organization. Fire-fighting, and victim rescue methods.
 Week 12Overall presentation of the SOLAS Convention-1974, parts, additional information and rules.

 Week 14Life in water and hypothermia, life in lifesaving crafts. Lifeboat, fast rescue boat and liferaft at sea exercise.
