The aim of the course:
Teaching ship machinery types with the emphasis on main engines. Understanding working principles of diesel engines, carburettor engines, gas turbines, gas turbines, main engines, auxiliary engines, auxiliaries for main engine, auxiliaries for deck machinery and service machinery.

Contents of the Course
Introduction to ship propulsion and other engineering systems activating by remote control system. Working principles of marine power plants and ship auxiliary machinery. Understanding of marine engineering terms, fuel consumption, ship machinery. Operational principles of steam engines, steam engines with pistons, steam turbines and internal combustion engines. Understanding of ship machinery view point duties including diesel engines, carburettor engines, gas turbines, gas turbines, main engines, auxiliary engines, auxiliaries for main engine, auxiliaries for deck machinery and service machinery.
