The aim of the course:
The purpose of this course is to provide student with a background in all areas of sex determination, sex related inheritance, extranuclear inheritance, population and evolutionary genetics and molecular genetics. The final goal is for the student who successfully completes this course to have ability to solve problems and think analytically, to be aware of the power of DNA technology, to be familiar with the language of genetics and the terminology of molecular biology, to be conversant in all of the areas of genetics and finally to be prepared for more advanced course work in cell and molecular biology.

Contents of the Course
Sex determination, X-linked inheritance, sex related inheritance, mutations and changes in chromosome number and structure, extranuclear genes, population genetics and evolution, immunogenetics, genetic engineering.
