The aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to teach the basic mathematical techniques, introducing at the same time a number of mathematical skills which can be used for the analysis of problems. The emphasis is on the practical usability of mathematics; this goal is mainly pursued via a large variety of examples and applications from these disciplines.

Contents of the Course
Sequences of numbers and series; power series; taylor and maclaurin series, indefinite integrals and basic integral rules; techniques of integration; definite integral and areas between curves; functions of several variables and partial derivatives; the chain rule; extreme values and saddle points; lagrange multipliers; double integrals; matrices; determinant and properties; linear equation systems; linear programming.
