Importance of environmental impact assessments. Environmental assessments and impact assessment techniques, the methods for predicting the effects of changes in the environment, the procedures and policy in environmental impact assessment, regulatory and technical requirements of impact assessment. Assessment of common impact of large civil engineering projects (air pollution, noise pollution, cultural impacts and socioeconomic impacts) . The role of environmental laws, environmental regulations, and economic forces in the design of large civil engineering projects. Methods and approaches to environmental impact assessment currently being used. Models of impact and indices for air, water, and land impacts. |
