The aim of the course:
To inform the students about the Earth's structural evolution and structures developep within the rocks on its surface.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : have information about main structures developed in various rocks. 1,2
LO - 2 : learn various deformation types and styles1,2
LO - 3 : learn how to determine relations of various deformation phases. 3
LO - 4 : learn how to interpret the structural evolution of the Earth. 5

Contents of the Course
Introduction and definition, various forces in geological sense, stress, strain (deformation) , attitude of planar structures, attitude of linear structures, stereographic projection technique, folds, stereographic solutions with folds, joints, joint analysis, faults, stereographic solutions with faults, cleavage structure, linear structures.
