The aim of the course:
To enable students to know basic concepts and theories in medical nursing, to take responsibility and role in medical patient care, problems solving and decision making , to describe needs of medical patient and to identify and list for potential risks in chronic disorders.

Basic concepts of nursing, nursing and nursing approaches, fluid-electrolyte, acid-base balance and imbalances, geriatric diseases and nursing care, cancer and nursing care, respiratory system diseases and nursing care, cardiovascular system diseases and nursing care, hematologic diseases and nursing care, renal diseases and nursing care, gastrointestinal system diseases and nursing care, endocrine system diseases and nursing care, joint and connective tissues diseases and nursing care, immunologic system diseases and nursing care, nervous system diseases and nursing care, skin diseases and nursing care, pain and nursing care of painful patient

 Week 3Liquid-Electrolyte, Acid-Base Balance Fluid-electrolyte balance, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, acid-base balance, acid-base imbalances
 Week 4Blood Disorders (Hematology) and Nursing Care The structure of the blood and diagnostic procedures, erythrocyte diseases and nursing care (for anemia, polycythemia), white blood cell diseases and nursing care (leukopenia-neutropenia, leukemias, malignant lymphomas), bleeding disorders and nursing care
 Week 5Respiratory System Disorders and Nursing Care Structure and function of the respiratory system, risk factors and prevention, assessment of the respiratory system, upper respiratory tract diseases and nursing care, bronchus, lung diseases and nursing care, and respiratory insufficiencies and care
 Week 6Kidney Disease and Nursing Care Kidney and urinary tract-anatomy and evaluate the functions, functional disorders of kidney and urinary tract, fluid and electrolyte imbalance and nursing care,urinary tract and kidney disease treatment and nursing care
 Week 7Cardiovascular System Disorders and Nursing Care Structure and function of the heart,evaluation of cardiac function and diagnostic tests,heart rhythm disorders and nursing care,coronary artery disease and nursing care, structural heart disease and nursing care, heart failure and nursing care, protection from heart diseases, vascular system diseases and nursing care
 Week 8Digestive System Diseases and Nursing Care Structure and functions of the digestive system, evaluation of the digestive system and diagnostic tests, oral-esophageal-gastric diseases and nursing care, pancreatic-biliary-hepatic diseases and nursing care

 Week 10Endocrine System Disorders and Nursing Care Structure-function of the endocrine system and evaluation, pituitary dysfunction and nursing care, thyroid disease, parathyroid disease, adrenal gland disease, pancreatic disease and nursing care (Diabetes Mellitus)
 Week 11Joints and Connective Tissue Diseases and Nursing Care Joints and connective tissue structure, rheumatic diseases, connective tissue diseases, systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, polimiyosit, degenerative joint disease, osteoarthritis, gout
 Week 12Immune System Diseases and Nursing Care Immune system and functions, immune system diseases (hypersensitivity, autoimmune diseases), and nursing care, and allergic diseases and nursing care
