The aim of the course:
To inform students about meaning and importance of geoid.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : understand geoid's description
LO - 2 : understand why geoid is important for geodesy
LO - 3 : learn height and height types
LO - 4 : learn how the heights are determined
LO - 5 : learn how the geoid is determined and which methods are used

Contents of the Course
Definition of geoid, its importance. Geoid as the basic shape of earth and geoid as the surface that have same potential. Geoid models. Geoid determination methods. Geoid determination with astrogeodetic, gravimetric, geopotential and satellite methods.
