Objectives of the Course
This course aims to describe natural wood, a most efficient material, for furniture design; to explain species, structure, technological and morphological properties of wood; to give information about wood finishing methods and wooden furniture manufacturing techniques

Contents of the Course

History of wood furniture, macro and micro structures of natural wood, properties (chemical, physical, mechanical, thermal ect.) of natural wood and widely used wood species for furniture, the structure of the coating materials, methods of the surface finishing, selection and type of surface finishing, coating materials of surface and edge, and types and properties of varnish on wood materials
