The aim of the course:
to provide students about theoretical background of the geoelectrical prospecting, data acqusition and data processing.

Contents of the Course
Measurement of electrical properties of rocks and minerals in the laboratory. Origin of self-potentials (SP) . Calculations of SP anomalies of simple geometrical bodies. Electrical resistivity methods. Electrode arrays. Layered earth and vertical electrical sounding (VES) . Calculation of VES curves by linear filters. Optimization methods and Pekeris Koefoed method of direct interpretation. Geological section from VES data. Electrical mapping, Anisotropic earth. Introduction to 2D modelling of field data. Origin of the IP effects. Time and frequency domain IP methods. Complex resistivity or spectral IP method. Magnetic IP method. Interpretation of IP field data.
