The aim of the course:
Within the scope of this course, the archeology of the important cultural regions of the Aegean territory, starting from the Paleolithic Age, will be discussed. It will be tried to show that the cultures from the Paleolithic Period to the Middle Bronze Age in Western Anatolia, the Aegean Islands and the Greek mainland progressed in interaction.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Will be able to explain the environmental conditions and cultural structure of the historical development of Aegean territory
LO - 2 : Will be able to analyze the prehistoric cultures of the Aegean territory and its constituent elements.
LO - 3 : Will be able to analyze the chronological and typological development of material elements belonging to the prehistoric cultures of the Aegean territory.
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
Within the scope of this course, the social development of the prehistoric cultures of Western Anatolia, Aegean Islands and mainland Greece will be evaluated from the beginning to the beginning of the Middle Bronze Age. In order to understand the process in question, the basic prehistoric materials of the region such as architecture, ceramics, stone tools and metal will be emphasized.
